Each summer the City of London Festival brings the City's unique buildings and outdoor spaces to life with an extensive artistic programme of music, visual arts, film, walks and talks, much of it free to the public.

Launched in 1988, The London International Ska Festival returned to critical acclaim in 2011 and has seen Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, The Pioneers, Rico Rodriguez, The Specials, Laurel Aitken, Ska Cubano, The Loafers amongst many others perform.

London's New Year's Day Parade is a parade through the streets of the West End of London, which takes place annually on 1 January.

The Lord Mayor's Show is one of the longest established and best known annual events in London.The procession is over three miles long – almost twice as long as the route it follows.

The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event which takes place during the bank holiday at the end of August, starting on Sunday and finishing on Monday evening, from 9am until 7pm each day.
