Description The Whitgift Foundation is the oldest charity based in Croydon. Founded in 1596 its aims were to provide education for the young and care for the elderly.

Over 400 years later, the Foundation, founded by John Whitgift, a former Archbishop of Canterbury, continues to develop fully Archbishop Whitgift's vision and ambition for Croydon.
